Cambridge favorites – treats and shops …

I took my kids out for ice cream the other day (in our winter coats because it’s spring in New England and not even cold weather will keep a Bostonian from ice cream!) and I realized in Cambridge we have some very special places one should visit while visiting the area….

Local pubs, cafes and shops near Harding House Bed and Breakfast, Cambridge, MA

These are some of my favorite spots, most have been around for ages, all are locally owned and well loved by locals…

Ice Cream: Toscanini’s homemade in Central Sq is the place to beat. inspired flavors have been churned out since the 80’s and they are still a favorite today.

Pint of Guinness: The Druid… you can’t beat the craic at this Irish pub. Great food, as well as live seisuns on Tuesday evenings and Saturday afternoons

Specialty shops: Salt and Olive and Follow the Honey are relatively new to the scene but so passionate about their products it’s worth taking a peek in their shops and heck you may even want to pay to check your bag on the way home just to take some liquid gold with you!

Gift shop: Black Ink for when a Harvard t-shirt just isn’t what you want to bring home, this is my go to for something really different and fun.
